Event #3 - Thousands of homeless are sleeping in the streets of Paris and are cleared out by French police. Event #4 - James Comey accused for interfering in the elections by saying that new emails were found that could be important/needed for the investigation of Hillary Clinton. Event #5 - Officials San Francisco voted on taking away drinks with sugar in them. Event #6 - The Senator in 24 years will be a woman and it will be either Loretta Sanchez or Kamala Harris . Event #7 - Airbnd makes it hard to sue for discrimination. Event #8 - South Korea's President apologizes for the political scandal caused by her administration. Event #9 - The Cubs won the world series on Wednesday. Event #10 - Two police officers in Iowa were shot and killed by an ambush attack on Wednesday. Event #11 - The Battle in Mosul with Isis and the Iraqi happened. Event #12 - The protest against the Demoka Access Pipeline at the Standing Rock Indian Reservation in North Dakota occurred.

Today I learned about different things happening all around the country and a bit of the world. I learned about how these events cause people to do certain things such as protest or stand up in other ways to show their concern. News Literacy is asking questions and getting answers from different people with all sorts of different points of view. Newspapers play a role in democracy because they give government an idea of what we as a society would like and what we would not. Our role in terms of the news are witnesses of what we see, hear, or know in general. |
